EUSIL F – Amorphous Silicon Dioxide (E551F)

Description:
EUSIL F (E551F) is a light, fine, amorphous powder with a white to off-white color, manufactured according to ISO 9001 and HACCP standards, in accordance with the requirements of Regulation (EC) 852/2004, Regulation (EC) 183/2005, Regulation (EC) 231/2012 and Regulation (EC) 2002/32 on the safety and purity of food additives.
The product contains 96.2% SiO2 (on the ignited basis) and is characterized by a high specific surface area (223 m2/g) and excellent anti-caking ability.
Main characteristics:
Shelf life: 3 years when stored dry and ventilated.
Functional class:
Anti-caking agent – according to Regulation (EC) 1333/2008, Annex II, point 8.
EUSIL F prevents caking and agglomeration of powdery and granular products, improving their flowability and stability during storage and processing.
Application:
EUSIL F (E551F) is used in a wide range of industries:
Food industry
- Spices, salt and salt substitutes;
- Sugars, powdered sweeteners and tablets;
- Dairy products: grated and sliced cheeses, processed cheeses, milk analogues;
- Decorations, glazes and fillings;
- Sprays and fats for spreading;
- Food additives in the form of tablets, capsules and syrups.
The permitted addition levels range from 10,000 mg/kg to 30,000 mg/kg, and in certain products – quantum satis (in the amount as needed).
Feed industry
It is used as a technological additive to prevent caking and improve the distribution of active ingredients.
Pharmaceutical industry
Applicable in solid dosage forms (tablets, capsules) as an anti-caking agent and an excipient ensuring uniform dosing.
Cosmetic industry
Used in powders, toothpastes and other personal care products as a stabilizer and thickener.
